A brief biography
Maurie D. Pressman, M.D. is the Medical Director and Founder of the Pressman Center for Mind/Body Wellness, with offices in Philadelphia. This is a clinic which focuses on spiritual psychotherapy and the exploration of the human soul.
During a long and prestigious career, Dr. Pressman has studied the potential of the human mind and soul for over forty years. He has explored the connections between traditional psychiatry and holistic-spiritual psychotherapy. Interested in the connection between the mind and the body, he has taught Sports Science at the University of Delaware and has pioneered the use of hypnosis and creative visualization in work with Olympic ice skaters, helping them to visualize and execute the “perfect performance.” He has also done extensive research on death and dying, behavior genetics, and learning disabilities.
Dr. Pressman’s professional affiliations include membership in twenty-two organizations, including the International Psychoanalytic Association, the American Medical Association, and the American Academy of Child Psychiatry. He is Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Temple University, Emeritus Chairman of Psychiatry at the Albert Einstein Medical Center, and a board member of the Spiritual Eldering Institute.
A frequent guest speaker at universities, professional organizations, and Whole Life Expos across the country, Dr. Pressman has lectured at meetings of the American Psychoanalytic Association; for the Select Committee of the House of Representatives on Children, Youth, and Families in Washington, DC.; at several Frontiers of Psychotherapy conferences in Philadelphia, PA; and at the Universities of Arizona, Connecticut, Denver, and Miami, among others. He has also been interviewed extensively in various television and radio forums, including the National Broadcasting Company of Canada during a documentary of his (co-authored) book Twin Souls.
As a writer, his articles have appeared in international and national premier medical journals, including the American Journal of Psychiatry and the International Journal of Psychoanalysis. He writes a monthly column in the Monthly Aspectarian and is co-author, with Patricia Joudry, of Twin Souls. This is a book on finding one’s true spiritual partner (Carol Southern Books, an imprint of Crown Publishers, 1995). Enter the Supermind, and Visions from the Soul are books authored by Dr. Pressman.

Maurie D. Pressman, M.D. Is traditionally trained as a Freudian psychoanalyst and child analyst and has reached into the broad realms of psychotherapy through his experience as Chairman of Psychiatry at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pa..and Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Temple University Medical School. These experiences have combined with an desire to search, have produced a bridge between the personal realms (which guide us on the material plane) and the higher realms (which guide us on the spiritual planes. In this way he facilitates a descent inward which leads to an ascent upward toward the soul. Dr. Pressman’s lectures and workshops are an experience in facilitation, release from obstruction, and entry into personal ascension.
Dr. Pressman is a Clinical Professor Emeritus at Temple Medical School in Psychiatry and Chairman Emeritus of the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pa. He has also lectured more than 100 times nationally and internationally. He has authored some 30 professional articles and is a columnist for the Monthly Aspectarian for more than five years.
